Chapter 116:

Caden hesitated to beat before Yankee opened the door and slipping out.
Alicia waited for Caden's footsteps to fade before she spoke, her gaze fixed on the closed door. “Are you staying
tonight?”
Joshua's easy smile faltered. “That was only for Caden's ears. He wants everything that's mine. “I had to remind
him that you're mine and mine alone.”
Alice frowned, but remained silent, her emotions twisting into knots.
His feelings were a tangle, neither clear nor easy to decipher.
| hadn't agreed to Caden's request, but...
Why did the idea of being alone with Joshua make her feel so guilty?
Meanwhile, Caden had just left the hospital and got into Hank's car.
Hank, who had been waiting for a while, had seen Joshua coming up the stairs earlier.
Noticing the dark cloud looming over Caden's head, Hank broke the silence.
"Mr. Ward, did you meet Mr. Yates?"
Caden's jaw tightened. Instead of answering, he simply ordered, “Taketo the apartment. “I need a shower.”
His voice was sharp and cold as ice.
Hank started the engine, looking at Caden in the rearview mirror. In an attempt to comfort his boss, he said
softly, “You know, Mrs. Bennett is just acting with him; it's just a show. There's no reason to be jealous.”
Caden frowned and narrowed his eyes. “Who said | was jealous?”
Hank swallowed hard, quickly shifting his gaze back to the road. “I misspoke. | was wrong. You're not jealous.”
As Caden's car sped off into the night, Joshua emerged from the hospital, his expression unreadable.
Moments after his car disappeared from sight, a hidden camera quietly retracted behind a tree.
The man behind the camera spent no tand sent the newly taken photos to Lilliana.
Sitting in her room, Lilliana flipped through the pictures with her eyes half-closed.

Although the man had not clearly captured the driver's face, and although the car was not one of his usual
vehicles, Lilliana immediately recognized Joshua.
She tightened her fingers around the phone and typed a question: “What was he doing at the hospital?” Joshua,
using a different car and moving so stealthily... It was clear he wasn't there for a simple routine checkup.
Moments later, a message buzzed back. “The only person related to Joshua in that hospital is Alicia.”
Lilliana's heart skipped a beat.
Alice?
| had already discarded the idea, thinking it too ridiculous.
If Joshua still had feelings for Alicia, why would he go through the trouble of divorcing her and getting involved
with her?
But now, the evidence was before his eyes, revealing everything he had believed.
She had spent days searching for any sign of another woman in Joshua's life, but all leads were empty.
He clenched his fists in realization. Where were they sneaking off to? And worse, where did they sleep?
The more he thought about it, the more worried he became.
Anxious thoughts tormented her, until finally, in a fit of rage, she could bear it no longer. She broke everything
she could: ornaments, vases, even the framed photo of her and Joshua.
The glass shattered into pieces on the floor. As she looked at the shattered memory, her anger turned to
sadness. She fell to her knees, tears streaming down her cheeks, sobbing until she was emotionless.
When Joshua returned, Lilliana had fallen into a restless sleep, her breathing labored as the maid swept up the
debris.
His expression darkened as he took in the scene.
Without saying a word, he entered the room.
Lilliana stirred at the sound of her voice, her body tensing and her eyes widening. Nausea and pain churned in
her stomach.
"Don't touch me," she whispered hoarsely, turning her face away from him.
But Joshua ignored her. Firmly, he pulled her against his chest, holding her tightly as she tried to resist. After
such an emotional crisis, she was too weak to fight him off. His hold was unbreakable, and his lips pressed
against her skin as her resolve broke once more. She began to cry, her tears soaking his shirt.
Joshua's tone softened, although there was an undertone of concern. "What happened?" he asked gently. "Why
are you crying?"
Lilliana looked at him, her eyes red and filled with pain. “Joshua... of all people, why Alicia?” Her voice shook with
the weight of her pain.
He had left Alicia behind, he had left her aside. Why did she continue to be a shadow in their relationship?
How could Lilliana accept it?
Hearing Alicia's name, Joshua clenched his jaw and remembered his previous visit to the hospital. Did Lilliana
know?
| have quickly searched for an excuse. "Alice? What's wrong with her? Didn't she have skind of incident at
the Gray family’s house and end up in the hospital?”
Lilliana's hand lashed out at him, hitting him with surprising force. “Stop pretending! How long are you going to
keep lying to my face? Do | have to catch you in bed with her for you to admit it?”
Joshua's expression remained calm, unhurried, as if his outburst was nothing more than an inconvenience. “Did
anyone say anything to you?”
